Expanding Gun Safety Measures
Joe Biden
Joe Biden addresses expanding gun safety measures in “The Biden Plan to End Our Gun Violence Epidemic”. His plan will:
-
“Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”
-
“Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.”
-
“Require background checks for all gun sales.”
-
“Close the “Charleston, Boyfriend, & Hate Crime” loopholes”
-
“End the online sale of firearms and ammunitions”
Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s campaign platform does not include plans for expanding gun safety measures. However, he has commented on gun safety via Twitter:
-
“I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks! Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue – I hope!” — 7:13 AM · Feb 22, 2018
Additionally, Trump “banned bump stocks” on December 18, 2018.
